Solanum incanum Linn belonging to family solanceae. Many important herbs were greatly utilised in ayurveda from the solanaceae. S. incanum is one of the most important herbs used in many disease conditions. Its roots used in cough conditions. Seeds were used in toothache. Till date there is no scientific study was not yet done as per the scholarís knowledge, for the first time roots were subjected for its pharmacognostical and phytochemical evaluation. Transverse section of root shows that cork cortex, uniseriate to multiseriate medullary rays and prismatic crystals of calcium oxalate. Phytochemical analysis shows that the alkaloids, steroids, amino acids etc.
