  Validated Stability indicating Liquid Chromatographic Method for the Determination of Linezolid in P
   

A rapid high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed and validated for the determination and stability evaluation of Linezolid in pharmaceutical dosage forms. Chromatographic separation of Linezolid was successfully achieved using C-18 (250mm 4.6mm i.d., 5 m particle size) column of Shimadzu Model CBM-20A/20 Alite, equipped with SPD M20A prominence photodiode array detector, maintained at 25 C (Isocratic mode) with mobile phase acetonitrile: water (50:50, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and eluate was monitored at 254 nm. The method was validated and the response was found to be linear in the drug concentration range 0.1-200 g/mL with regression equation y = 76510x + 5874.4 (R2 = 0.9999). The RSD values for precision were found to be 0.14-1.17% (Intra-day) and 0.451.37 % (Inter-day) respectively. Linezolid was subjected to stress conditions such as acidic, alkaline, oxidation and thermal degradations and the proposed method was validated as per ICH guidelines.
