  ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF N, N-BIS (3-(4,5-DIHYDRO-1H-IMIDAZOL-2(PHENYL) UREA DIPROPONATE
   

Antimicrobial activity of  N,N-Bis (3-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2(phenyl) urea diproponate (1) was investigated against  E.coli, S. aureus, C. albicans and Aspergillus flavus using the Disc diffusion, Well diffusion and Poison plate methods at varying volume of extracts  in the range of 100uL to 500 uL. For both the Well and Disc Diffusion asay, the largest area of zone of inhibition of 226.87 mm2 was induced against E.coli when the diameter of zone of inhibition was (17.0 mm) and the volume of the extract 100uL. At a volume of 100uL, the order of susceptibility of pathogenic strains to the compound solution follows the trend: Eschericia coli > Staphylococcus aureus > Aspergillus flavus > Candida albicans. The smallest zone of inhibition of 28.26 mm2 was induced against Candida.albicans and Aspergillus flavus  at  500 uL volume of extract, the order of susceptibility of pathogenic microorganism against compound (1) following  the sequence: E. coli > S. aureus > C. albicans for all three methods of assay.
