Tamra Bhasma drug of Ayurveda is highly oxidised product of copper metal, during the preparation of Bhasma the copper oxides is passed through the “sodhan” (purification) and “maran” (removal of toxicity) stages in which metal oxides are purify and their toxicity removes. In Ayurveda this is considered that, the trituration of metal oxides with herbal products and herbal products juice, reserve the therapeutic potential of metals oxides and remove the maximum toxicity of metal oxides. Also the trituration with herbal products and herbal product juice convert the oxidised metallic state into smooth soft and body adaptable micro fine powder of better therapeutic values with less toxic values. The comparative studies in between LD50 of copper (free metal) and LD50 of Tamra Bhasma (oxides of copper + herbal product ash) proves that Tamra Bhasma is very less toxic than the free copper metal. This also proves by the comparative studies of ACS (American Cancer Society) referred RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) of copper free metal and dose of Tamra Bhasma. Also the maximum dietary Allowance is much lower than the dose of Tamra Bhasma.   The doses of Tamra Bhasma evaluated were 30 mg in an Immediate Release Formulation (IRF) tablets and in Colon Targeting Drug Delivery System (CTDDS) tablets the dose decreased to 10 mg. Name of Bhasma preparations depends upon the main metal content use to prepare the metallic Bhasma. Like, if copper is used to prepare metallic Bhasma called “Tamra Bhasma”, if zinc than “Yasad Bhasma”. Dosage form design must be require for numerous safety concerns to the patients treat with Bhasma. So, design of evaluation parameters of dosage form of Bhasma is also must be require. A lot of  methods were utilized with “Tamra Bhasma” to observed the successive tool for the evaluation of dosage form of the Tamra Bhasma the tool like, turbidimetric analysis, conductometery, UV-analysis, colorimetery, complexometric titration and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). But, only the tool atomic absorption spectroscopy was the highly sensitive and successive tool to observe the content of copper in drug Tamra Bhasma.
