  POLYMEROSOMES: A NOVEL TECHNIQUE FOR DRUG DELIVERY
   

Polymerosomes represents a class of vesicles, tiny hollow spheres that encloses a solution.    Diblock copolymers are known to spontaneously organize into polymer vesicles. In general they can be prepared by the methods used in the preparation of liposomes film rehydration, solvent evaporation method or double emulsion method, typically this is achieved through the techniques of film rehydration or electro-formation. There is a present new method for generating polymer vesicles from double emulsions.  Most  reported polymerosomes contain an aqueous solution in their core and are useful for encapsulating and protecting sensitive molecules such as drugs, enzymes, other proteins, peptides and RNA fragments. Polymerosomes are similar to liposomes and size with radii ranging from 50nm – 5um or more polymerosomes are good candidate for controlled release drug delivery and for targeted medication. As compared to lipids polymer vesicles have advantage of higher stability and rigidness.
