  Ficus virens (WHITE FIG): AN OVERVIEW OF ITS PHYTOCHEMISTRY AND PHARMACOLOGY
   

Ficus virens (White Fig) is a medium sized tree belonging to the group of strangling figs which occurs by stream side in subtropical china, tropical south and south-east Asia from India to China and Indonesia, Bhutan, Cambodia. In the traditional system of medicine, various plant parts such as bark, latex, leaves and fruits are used in blood diseases, apoplexy, vertigo, delirium, pain, rheumatism, diabetes and also as an anti-oxidant. The present review is therefore an effort to give a detailed survey of literature on its traditional uses and pharmacological properties.
