  Luffa echinata (wild.)- A Review on Phyto-pharmacological Properties
   

Neutraceuticals are not very popular but they are having great potential to produce certain pharmacological properties. Study of evidence based scientific reporting can become the foundation for further research keeping in view of the phytochemical constituents and their pharmacological responses. Luffa echinata is one such plant which has not grabbed considerable attention. The article illustrates its pharmacognostic, phytochemical and Pharmacological activities including traditional and therapeutic uses. The phytoconstituents present in it are mainly flavonoids and terpenoids. Different part of this plant (whole plant, fruit, seeds, root) are traditionally claimed to be used for the treatment of broad spectrum  ailment including dog bites, Liver disorders, Piles, Poisoning, Worm infestation, jaundice, fever, biliary and intestinal colic.
