  Ipomoea aquatica: Morphology, Phytochemical constituents, Traditional uses and Pharmacological prope
   

Ipomoea aquatica, commonly known as water-spinach or morning glory, has been recognized in many traditional medicines system for the treatment of various ailments of human being. In traditional systems of medicines, it is used as purgative, diuretic, remedies for jaundice, for nose bleeding and to purify the blood. It contains various phytoconstituents belonging to category alkaloids, coumarin, quinones, tannins, saponins, and flavonoids etc. It possess pharmacological activities like; anti-hyperglycemic, anti-ulcerogenic, nootropic, anti-microbial, in-vitro cytotoxic and diuretic. The focus of this review is to describe the useful information about I. aquatica.
